Buenas a todos!!!!
Por fin tenemos la furgo, LA AZULONA despues de mucho luchar por encontrar un seguro económico y que no tuviese problemas de motor,etc... Y ya está aparcada delante de casa, bueno aquí os pongo las primeras fotos que tenemos hechas de esta misma tarde, son exteriores, cuando pueda hare unas del interior y de nuestros viajecillos por estos mundos que nos rodean!

hoy el interior.....jejej al menos esta vez de dia y con sol, que ayer menuda m....de tiempo.
bueno, la tapizeria lleva unas funsas porque está guarrindonga, pero en la empresa d emi padre tapizamos, así que en un futurin no muy lejano, la tapizaremos toda de nuevo!!!!

segun me dijo el antiguo dueño, la furgo era d euna familia, y la transformo en westfalia, porque creo que era una transporter sin más
lo unico que funciona de todo eso, es la calefa (aunque ahora no funciona, ya tengo el post por ahi ) y lo otro que debe de ser la temperatura de la nevera, que no se si funciona...

Buenas patxi, el motor es un 2000c.c de 70CV, no es el original, es de un escarabajo, por lo que supongo que tendra menos de esos 182000km que marca el cuenta km, o almenos eso espero, tiene 4 marchar, primera vez que veo algo así!!!y mola mucho jajaja acostumbrado a 5 marchas y a 6, porque también he conducido,....pues se me hizo raro al ver el cambio, pero ya te digo me mola con solo 4 marchas!!!jejeje, algun dato más????que cuando me pongo...me pongo!!!!por cierto en los papeles me poe modelo volkswagen 253 no es una t3 en principio??

T3/T25 es la misma denominación, 25 es la denominación del tipo de furgoneta que ponía VW , os ingleses la denominan así mientras que el resto del mundo las conoce como T3...os pongo algo más de información

VW Type Numbers Explained.  
  
I've written this page because I am bored with people calling things the wrong name, type 4 Transporters being a prime example, its T4!! aaaarrrgh!
if you read this it should hopefully put things straight for you.
  Type 1 - its a beetle, nowt more, nowt less.

  Type 2 - VW vans, split, bay, wedge even some LT's, they are all type 2's.

  Type 3 - notchback, squareback (variant), fastback.

  Type 4 - the 411 and 412, its not a Transporter.

 Type numbers come from the chassis number, all beetles (type1) chassis numbers start with 1. All vans start with 2 hence type 2 etc. etc. (except 1980 on vehicles that start with w but that's another story!)

This is where the confusion starts, the Germans shortened Transporter to T so...

  T1 - is a split screen van (1948 - 1967)

  T2 - is a bay window van (1967 - 1979)

  T3 - is a vanagon,Type25 (1979 - 1990)

  T4 - is a well... T4! or a Eurovan for our American friends (That mean Transporter 4 NOT type 4!!)

Does that make sense?

 Now things can get a little complicated when a type 34 comes along, well its not that complicated, honest.
The first three digits of pre-'80 chassis number give you three different pieces of info.

  1st digit is the chassis type.

  2nd digit is the body type.

  3rd digit gives you the year of manufacture.

So the type 34 is based on a type 3 chassis (same as fastback etc.) with a number 4 body (Karmann). Easy!!

It's the same for the type 14 or Karmann Ghia, that's based on a type 1 (beetle) chassis with a karmann body.

 So, the Type 25, its also a T3, and a vanagon (in the US) but to add confusion the type number for the pickup and crew cab models start with 24...so that screws that up don't it!!
And while we're at it, it's only the UK that dubbed the 3rd generation of transporter the "Type 25". Most other countries have adopted the T3 name, which in my estimations is a much better name seeing as though if you look back through lists of old vw type designations listings you find that a real type 25 is infact a fire truck!
 
  T3 Models.  
  
All VW models have a "Type number", they are 6 digits long The first three are the actual type number, the second batch of three are the sales code and give some indication as to what to expect o each vehicle.

Same as with other VW systems they are quite logical in the way they are laid out.
VW T3 vans are known as Type 2's, this is VW speak for a commercial vehicle.
VW T3 type numbers sometimes get inaccurately shortened to type 25, this is nonsense as a pick up or crew cab start with 24! why leave our pick up brethren out?!

Anyway, only the first 3 digits of the 6 digit type number are generally of any use. They are listed below.
I have not bothered to list the full 6 digits as to be frank there are far too many!

Foot notes:
Hightops.
 As far as I am aware the hi-top models were not available in the UK in panel van form,don't know why. The only versions we did get were very late Kombi's, generally 1990 onwards, Holdsworth used them for their camper conversion.
VW also did a high top panel van with an extended height sliding door, no bobbing down to get in, sadly we didn't get these either.
 Please don't get the factory hi-tops confused with vans that have been converted in this country,I have seen them when I have been abroad. The tops are very distinctive and very well made, an I should imagine very heavy!

Pickups.
The extended wooden platform pickups and crew-cabs weren't available either. Although they are listed and produced in RHD form we didn't get them! The wooden platform was made by Westfalia, the camper people! Also worth noting is that the extended wooden bed pick ups and crewcabs came with longer mirrors! The mirrors we're left over bay window (T2) items with new brackets to fix to the door.

Multivan.
Multivan was never made in Right hand Drive form

Campers.
Westfalia were the factory approved camper converters, sadly we didn't get them in the UK. VW UK relied upon companies such as Devon. All UK Westfalia campers are personal imports and are Left Hand Drive, There are some 20 odd RHD converted Westfalias out there, converted in this country with kits supplied by Westfalia but are purported to be of very low quality. Once Westfalia had work back about the state of the conversions they would no longer sell the kits.... As legend goes!

Caravelle.
VW UK stopped importing caravelles in 1990, Im not sure if VW produced them after 1990 as production from the Hanover factory ceased in this year. Low level production carried on till 1992 from the syncro producing Steyr Daimler Puch factory in Graz, Austria. All Minibus's from 1990 to 1992 that were available from VW UK were converted by either Devon motor caravans or Advance in Derby and based on Combi models.
