unfotunately thats it with my spanisch. I am travelling in the picos de europa and have some weird noises in my front right side, close to the tires. My guess is that it is drive shaft/pto shaft / Eje de accionamiento?? but i cant verify it.
the thing is i am in the middle of my journey and wanna go 5oookm more. I can still drive and the noise is just coming when it goes uphill in 2nd and 3rd gear.
DOES anyone know a good trustworthy mecanic around Picos de Europa, or Gijón or Oviedo. who can order the parts as well if needed!?
As i said my spanish is really poor, but if anyone has a good tip please let me know.....

Today it's national holiday, so you probably won't be able to get any answer from the mechanical workshop. Tomorrow it should be open. ;)
The past summer it happened something similar during my journey to Turkey and Kurdistan and it was kinda scary for a while... but it was solved and I could keep going my travel. ;D

What was the problem with your car in the end? Mine makes me so curious because the noise is not always, it just comes after a while driving hardcore uphill... No glue?!? Hope the garage will check and can fix it.... So much more to see here in wonderful Spain!!

The problem of my van was an engine alert caused by a malfunction of the MAP sensor but I didn't know it until the engineer connected the van to its computer, so I drove quite a long way asking myself when and where the van would stop. Once at the mechanical workshop it was not that bad but I had a bad time before... :roll: .meparto

He is a really good expert in VW vans. Honestly,no better place to go if you have one.
If you need to leave your van there several days, you can stay in Oviedo/Gijon/Aviles. There are plenty of unexpensive hostels or airbnbs, as well as many places to be visited.
The main cities are connected via Alsa every 20' and to come back to the garage, you have a train stop (feve) some hundred meters south.

Thank you very much for the info. We will drive up there today and hope they will find the problem. We still can drive thats the good thing and no problem at all during regular streets 😊
Don't hope it's gonna take to long but with the weekend coming up and maybe some new parts needed to be mailed it can be, so it's good to have something to do in the region. Ordinary we try to stay in the van cause we are traveling with a dog and so no hostels and very few hotels accept dogs.
But if so it is so and we will find a solution 👍🐕 and if so, let me know where the biggest party is this weekend so we can drink the pain away 🍻😂

Better nightlife, you will find it in Gijón. There are several spots with many bars/terraces and also night music. All of them near the beach (san lorenzo) or the leisure harbour(puerto deportivo). Just have a walk by the beach and sorroundings.

For those whose interested we changed both dirve shaft (eje de transmisión) and i couldnt force the noise again since then.
