Hola Todos, greeting from Northern Ireland again.
I have just started to go to college one night a week to Spanish Level 3, to improve my basic Spanish. So I hope to get a few posts onto the main forum again.
I have been surfing the main forum and using the translate button quite a lot.
This year we have been taking our 1967 Split Screen Camper onto the beach at Portstewart Strand every weekend to use our Kayak and Body Boards. It's just getting too cold now to go to the beach, roll on next year. .ereselmejor
Salud, Colin
welcome and sorry my english it's absolutely terrible
Thank you yumeres.
I went to my Spanish class again last night. Some things are starting to fall into place.
If I can understand the different endings of the verbs, I think it will be a great help.
Does anyone know of a Spanish Online Shopping channel. I have been watching Spanish TV on BeelineTV but I find the people speak too quickly.
I have found 'Almavision' from California is better for me as the people speak slower. I think a Spanish shopping channel would be good as they keep repeating the same words again and again.
Cheers Colin
i come from asturias here rains very much too.give a minute to look spahish tv shopping chanel. In south america people talks very quickly europen spanish its more slowly its diferent as english and american the words are not the same.Otro dia probamos con el castellano que se me da mejor

Best regards.

Hi Adrian 222, thank you for your kind words about my Bus. I have owned my Split for 11 years. The restoration took around 18 months. As you can see in the photographs the split was in very poor condition. We are very happy with life in our bus.
Do you have any photographs of your splitty?
Thanks again, Colin

Thanks OBEG, the website should be a good help.
I have borrowed some cds from a friend at Spanish Class, the cds really get into the verbs and the different endings of the words. Every week something else clicks into place. I listen to a lot of spanish and now I can pick out a lot of words. I may not understand all the words but at least I can spell the words.

Poor condition? I would have loved to have my splitty in the condition of yours when I bought... anyway you did a wonderful job, right now I'm working hard in mine, there are pics in this site of it, but I'm a little bit ashamed to show you them ;D
I only see a mistake in your restoration, you installed the steering wheel at the wrong side .meparto .meparto .meparto (just an easy joke)
The original color of my bus was the same blue as yours, could you give me the reference of the color?
You're asking about the price of a ticket train from Madrid, is it a question to improve your spanish or are you coming to Madrid? (I live in Madrid if you need something...)
Don't be shy, show us more pictures of your Splitty specially pics of the bus after the restoration (I love to see these pics because maybe one day I will have my bus in that condition)
Best regards
My Spanish was just a joke, last night in Spanish class we had to book tickets for different trains and listen to train announcements and identify as many words as possible.
I would like to see photographs of your Splitty, can you link me to the section on the forum, thanks.
We have a friend who lives part of the year in Northern Ireland and part in California. He imports Splitty and Bay window campers from USA so we have a few here on our roads with the steering wheel on the correct side. ;D
I chose the blue colour from a colour chart so unfortunately I do not know the code number.

Hi 67Split,
Welcome to our and (by this moment) your forum. This is a post where foreign people using a common language, like English, could ask for informationn, look for any person who shares the same hobby about vans or for whatever you could imagine.
As long as you spend time talking to people here, you'll improve your Spanish, and you may try to write in other post written in Spanish.
I guess I don't have to say it, but just in case, you should know you can ask us for any doubt you could have, right ?
See and read you, my friend. Kind regards ;)
Uauuu 67Split Lovelyy!!!!!
I would like to see it in person :D
No tengas tanta prisa por vender, intenta ser mas discret@...
Hi Colin,
The camper van looks awesome mate. Congratulations! .ereselmejor That´s a real treasure but I can imagine the super-effort for such a detailed work. I wish you enjoy it. At the "furgoperfectos" sub-forum you will find plenty of adeas of wonderfull areas to visit in Spain. Have fun!
Hi guys! Just found all ye! Nice to enjoy also! 67split! I'll be glad to talk with you either in spanish o in english!
Un saludo!
It is nice to learn, no matter how old you are. Though, honestly, for learning another language, when you've grasped the linguistic rules (via attending classes, courses and whatnot) it's better to practice "freestly" so to speak, I'm talking about watching films, hearing music and whatnot in the target language that you want to master.
This reminds me of a phrase that Bong Joon-ho, the Parasite (http://brushcreeklogcabin.com/2020/01/23/conoce-los-datos-mas-interesantes-tras-la-produccion-de-la-pelicula-parasite/) movie director (you can watch it on Pelispedia), said about Martin Scorsese in the awards event "The most personal, is the most creative". In regards to learning spanish, english, or any other language, I do believe that you have to get close and personal with the culture surrounding the language (and not the contrary), reason being, it's easier to speak a language when you understand the people that you want to communicate with. Cheers, and thank you for discussing these topics.
